Police were last night at the scene of a concern for safety near a boat club at Shaws Bridge in south Belfast.
The concern came after a kayak, shoes and socks were located and a search got is underway to establish if a person has entered the water.
Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact Police.
An appeal was also made to the owner of the items to contact them if they are safe and well.
