Appeal for information after Carrickfergus street robbery
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the street robbery in Carnhill Place in Carrickfergus.
The victims had been walking along Carnhill Place around 12.10am when they were confronted by two masked males, both of whom were carrying suspected firearms.

Hide AdThey threatened the victims, forcing them to hand over money from their wallets before making off in the direction of Oakfield Drive.
The victims - one aged in his 40’s and one aged in his 50’s - were left shaken after the ordeal.
Detective Constable Sweeney, Larne Reactive and Organised Crime Branch is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives at Larne Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 42 of 21/08/16. Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan has said reports that two men were robbed by armed and masked men in Carrickfergus are very disturbing.

Hide AdThe East Antrim MLA said: “Reports that two men were mugged by armed and masked men in the Carnhill Place area of Carrickfergus are very disturbing.
“It must have been a terrifying experience for those involved and they were no doubt left shaken by the experience.
“I would encourage anyone with information on the incident to bring it forward to the PSNI.”
