The ABP Angus Youth Challenge is an agri-food skills competition aimed at bridging the gap between school and employment for teenagers in Northern Ireland interested in working in agri-food.
Kelly is a Year 13 pupil at Rainey Endowed, Magherafelt, and entered the ABP Angus Youth Challenge in 2017 as part of a four-person team representing the school.

Hide AdThe challenge involved rearing five Aberdeen Angus cross calves through to beef; selling them to ABP for a financial reward and also working on a research assignment to benefit local beef production.
Kelly and her team assignment topic was ‘the Role and Challenges of Women on Northern Ireland farms.’
